Short biography:

Dag Endresen was prior to joining GBIF working with plant genetic resources for food and agriculture (PGRFA). This work included the use of standard vocabularies in this thematic community. Dag was the head of the documentation department at the Nordic Gene Bank (NGB, reorganized in 2008 as Nordic Genetic Resources Center [NordGen]) and as a visiting scientist at Bioversity International (CGIAR). Dag has also represented NGB/NordGen as the GBIF Node manager from 2004 to 2010 and as the GBIF Node committee vice chair from 2006 to 2010. These experiences provide Dag with a good background for the practical requirements for a formalized Knowledge Organization System (KOS).
