The use of global biodiversity data for UK science and decision making

The workshop has been jointly organised by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, the Natural History Museum, Defra and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee and will focus on the value and use of the Global
Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF).

The workshop will:

  1. Explore the value of GBIF to UK science and decision making.
  2. Demonstrate the value and potential use of GBIF data to support global biodiversity assessment, conservation planning and sustainable agriculture.
  3. Demonstrate data publishing and bioinformatics resources available through GBIF.
  4. Provide feedback on priorities for future GBIF development to support UK research.

The workshop will take place on Monday 28th May 2012, from 9.30am to 4.30pm at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (Jodrell Lecture Hall). There is no charge for attendance. If you would like to attend I would be grateful if you could RSVP by no later than this Friday (18 May) to reserve a place.
