Science Uncovered 2

The EU has awarded the NHM funding to build on the enormous successes of Science Uncovered 2010 and once more join in the Europe-wide Researchers' Night programme on Friday the 23rd of September 2011.  EU funded projects, including ViBRANT, will feature prominently in these activities.
A key improvement we want to see is to shift the ratio of scientists to wider public ratio from 1:135 (last year) to less than 1:50 so with that in mind we will need the highest possible levels of participation from all science staff to achieve the following visitor outcomes:

  • Increase the understanding that researchers are a diverse community from a wide range of backgrounds;
  • Give insights into the central role of researchers, research careers and the key benefits they bring to society;
  • Inspire participants to take part in other science activities in future and to consider research careers

There is lots of great work that we can pull together and build on to deliver this event and the team will be in touch to help co-ordinate your participation. Activities will start from lunchtime and some will run till later so even staff who need to leave early or who are tied up during the day will still be able to be involved.
